Interview with Irina Fortey Photography!

Are you looking for a photographer to capture your special moments? Tomorrow if the Great Cloth Diaper Change and I had the chance to chat with Irina Fortey, a wonderful local photographer who is also one of our amazing sponsors!

What types of photography do you do?
I specialize in newborn and family photography, my style is aimed towards relationship portraits that are natural and journalistic in nature. Life is filled with many in between moments and my goal is to help you enjoy them, working together in capturing them as treasured art.

What is your favorite type of session to do?
I adore the 7 month old baby stage ~ it is filled with giggles and expressions and it is when most babies show their personality. I find it inspirational seeing how happy they are learning.

What is your top 3 tips for preparing for a session?
I aim for a very relaxed style of capture, so my favourite tip is to focus more on each other, the camera is simply our tool to create but always people first. Most babies and young children are best in the morning hours of the day, my recommendation is to work with their "happy hour" when they are most rested and excited for the day. Because each baby, child and family has their own lifestyle, I offer a "get to know" each other before a session where we can simply meet. I have found this helps children the most in feeling comfortable when it comes to having their photo taken.

How far ahead should sessions be booked?
I recommend booking three to four weeks in advance of your desired date. Most popular times are Spring and Fall and around holidays, give yourself about 6 weeks to plan during these peak times.

Do you have any current promotions happening?
I currently opened a cozy home studio to create natural baby portraits! Check out all the details HERE!

Where can people stay in touch with you?
I love sharing with parents and parents-to-be! You can find daily inspirations on my instagram profile. Tons of happy, make you feel good moments. The studio journal shares sessions and inspirational notes.
